Beautiful restaurant in the upscale Tranquility Bay resort. This is definitely a 5 star restaurant, not a “cafe”. It’s the best restaurant we have eaten at in Marathon! The service is great, starting with reservations are easy to make, very friendly and welcoming host. Our waitress, Gabby, was very friendly, professional, fun to talk with and did a perfect job serving us! We were greeted and served water in the first 5 minutes of being seated. We enjoyed every part of our experience here. The atmosphere is beautiful with amazing views. All the staff were friendly, well versed on the menu and genuinely seemed to care. Now to the best part, the food! We started with the shrimp cocktail and the Caprese salad. I enjoyed the yellow snapper with a creamy risotto and my husband really liked his seafood pasta that had a lot of seafood in it! We finished the meal by sharing the delicious flourless chocolate cake. We definitely recommend and certainly hope to return.

My husband and I have always enjoyed coming to this restaurant for special occasions as they have wonderful higher quality food and have always had wonderful service. The women in our neighborhood have come to this restaurant for our girls’ nights out a couple of times a year for almost 30 years. In the past, the restaurant has always graciously accommodated our request for separate checks so that we do not have to figure out how to divide the bill ourselves. We stayed on property, but I would recommend anyone make the trip for this restaurant. If you are on property, it’s worth the short walk! The meals were excellently prepared, fantastic service, and decent wine selection.

Beautiful restaurant and great attentive service. Not cheap but food was excellent. Don’t mind paying for good food. The pork chops were probably the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend

Went with a family of 5 for a special night out on vacation. What a great disappointment we had. Started off with an unfriendly host taking us to our table followed by a long wait for service. The dinner for 5 which included dinner and dessert (no apps) took over 3 hours to complete...only because the service from the staff and the kitchen was slow. Not to worry though, they still charged 18% gratuity despite the lackluster experience. Save your money and head somewhere/anywhere else.

This restaurant is located in Tranquility Bay. The staff very helpful and friendly. The menu varied. A break from fish this visit, pasta with vegetables. Excellent. Very enjoyable evening. Very beautiful area. Worth a revisit.

My wife and I dined at Butterfly Cafe last night. We had an excellent meal on the porch on a beautiful evening. We split a caesar salad, which was good but unremarkable. We were served dinner rolls, which were really good. My wife got a mahi mahi special with risotto; both were great. I got a fisherman’s pasta with shrimp, scallops, mahi mahi, and sun-dried tomatoes; it was superb. We got a HUGE slice of key lime pie for dessert; absolutely great. Service was excellent. Great dining experience!

Poor service - table was not ready , then server did not show up . Very mediocre food - thus overpriced . Avoid going . Disorganised feel

The restaurant is part of the Tranquility Bay Resort, and as we were staying at the resort, we ate here twice. The service and food were great (we came back a second time because we enjoyed it so much the first time). The food was pricey (and note that an automatic gratuity is added to the bill), but we enjoyed it, and the location was convenient for us.

Poor execution of the Pre fix menu. Bringing out next course before clearing prior for example. Shrimp cocktail was very small shrimp. Salad was lackluster. Service was not good but there was a 20% gratuity added. Over $320 a couple and not nearly worthy of that price tag.

Very nice restaurant part of the tranquility bay resort. We dined outside on Thanksgiving and the only option was their buffet. The salad choices and the butternut squash soup was very good as well as the super fresh peel and eat shrimp. The fresh fish and sides also very nice. The star was the turkey both flavorful and surprisingly moist. Why only 4 stars? I love prime rib and it was not good. Rather than bringing out one nice roast they had many different pieces cut from a roast. Can't beat Butterfly Cafe for ambiance..just a gorgeous and peaceful setting..but at the end of the day, food matters and it was average at best. As a vegan, I am used to having limited options but there truly are no "adult" entree options here. I settled on pasta pomodoro which was basically a bowl of buttered noodles with some sauce. The only part of this dish that didn't feel like it was an offering from a kid's menu was the price tag - $34.. which is nuts. Sadly my husband's crab cakes were mostly breadcrumbs and the fish was not fresh. I hate leaving reviews like this, but honestly this beautiful restaur...

Great food and service. This restaurant is located at the Tranquility Resort. You can choose inside or outside over looking the pool area. We opted for inside due to June temperatures. The food was great and our server, Kristen, was amazing.

Food was fantastic! Service was more than 5 stars! Anthony was our waiter, restaraunt is beautiful, sit in the porch! Views are so pretty!

We had a great time at Butterfly. It was definitely the best restaurant experience we had during our Marathon vacation. The Scallops over Risotto was awesome and my wife had the filet which was great as well. Anthony was our waiter and he was terrific. The F&B manager was Flabia and she was great with recommendations during our visit. Great vibe, great atmosphere! Highly recommended….Now stop reading and GO!

Very good food and our waiter Anthony was very kind and very accommodating. He had very good recommendations for our food and overalll a really great person and fun waitress!!!!

It advertises vegan and vegetarian friendly but it was very difficult to order as a vegan because they didn’t add any vegan options to their menu and I had to design my own dish in which took 15 min. The waiter showed no interest in helping and told me to order a salad or sides. Service and ambience is mediocre. Located inside Tranquility Bay resort so the grounds is beautiful. I just wish they would consider adding vegan and vegetarian options to the menu so it wouldn’t take so long to order and the chef would be better prepared.

Jasmine was our server at Butterfly Cafe. She was the best! She was attentive, kind and professional. This was the second time she waited on us and she is part of the reason we came back this year! Food was outstanding and the ambience-charming. Would highly recommend the Butterfly Cafe at Tranquility Bay!

For the price of the food I was expecting to be wowed by everything. The crab cakes appetizer was absolutely delicious. I had the grouper and my husband had the special which was shrimp/scallops, fish and muscles over a small pasta shell with marinara sauce. I felt my grouper was good but not flaky (which maybe that is what grouper is-I didn’t know). My husband had 3 muscles and 1 never opened. He felt his food was good but not spectacular.He asked the waitress about the muscle that didn’t open and she really couldn’t explain why. Five years in a row, my husband and I have celebrated Valentines Day at the Butterfly Cafe, and they have NEVER disappointed us. Between the staff (thank you Brenda!), the service (thank you Nicole!), the ambience, and the delicious gourmet food, it is one of the best restaurants in Marathon. We will definitely be going back!
